Work on your house

Extension, conversion, refurbishment, rewire or an EICR — the jobs we deliver ourselves. Send the postcode and a description.

04 — Before you call

The five things we always ask.

Have these to hand and we can usually book the survey on the first call.

Type, rough age and postcode. A 1930s semi with a rear extension is a completely different job from a first-floor flat in a converted terrace — access, party walls and the existing wiring all change with it.

Even a rough description helps. "Kitchen extension, knock through, new consumer unit" tells us which trades to bring to the survey and roughly how long we will need on site.

Architect's drawings, structural calculations, planning permission, a party wall award or an earlier quotation. If it exists, send it — it stops us quoting for work someone has already specified differently.

And whether you will be living in the property while the work happens. Occupied jobs need dust sheeting, sealed doorways, a working kitchen or bathroom kept live, and a different sequence altogether.

Parking, skip permits, side access to the rear, and whether materials can be got in without going through the house. In West London this is often the single biggest thing that moves a price.
